I did it... I made the announcement....
Just wanted to job a quick THANK YOU to every single one of you!Thank you for all of your support, for spreading the love, and for helping make 2012 my BUSIEST YEAR YET!
Orange Anchor Photography is officially 110% booked up for the remainder of the year + cannot take any other sessions.
Though I haaaaaate saying "no" to people wanting photos, I'm taking this as a HUGE accomplishment. I did it. I'm living my photography dream!
OAP will also be taking a few months "off" this Winter/Spring to focus on some BIG CHANGES for not only the business, but for my Family as well...
...Such as THE WEDDING! And Blaine will be home from a 5 month deployment so soon that I can barely contain myself from jumping on the couch, Tom Cruise Style.
Once he's home - we will be spending just a few short days seeing {and saying goodbye to.... WHAT?? you ask... keep reading....} our friends and family during Thanksgiving + then we are making a giant road trip out west to Seattle!
Cat is officially out of the bag ladies and gents....
Orange Anchor Photography will be relocating to Seattle in November of 2012!!!
Please - please, before you shed your tears {I'm only kidding!} - This "move" is semi-temporary and I will be coming back to the Dubuque Area OFTEN.
Leaving Dubuque will be one of the hardest things I will ever had to do in my entire life. Honestly loves -- I'm stressing over this more than I was when the giant "C" bomb {that's Cancer for those of you who have just recently joined in on my madness} was dropped on me last Winter. The whole idea of it scares the living you know what out of me. I have fallen in LOVE with this place and with you all + that's the honest to God truth, I'm not trying to be a big ol' suck up right now.
I love the anticipation of an upcoming shoot of a toddler that I've been working with since birth --- getting to see how much they've grown and interacting with their ever growing personalities is indescribable. I love the way my work makes you all feel {all the texts, and calls, and e-mails asking when you will be seeing more photos because "you just cannot wait" -- makes me feel like Santa Clause + ya'll are just crazy with anticipation to run downstairs in your PJs and open your presents.} I love how supportive this entire community is and how much you guys ROCK at spreading the word about me + my work. Others Raving about me {me? The little blonde girl from a HS Class of just 42??} --- This is the biggest compliment I can get. People ask all the time "What do you do for advertising?" --- Answer. NOTHING. It's all you guys, which is why I cannot THANK YOU ENOUGH {again} for everything the past few years.
So, now that we are on the topic of LOVE -- it's funny how it's what makes me want to stay, but in the end it's the one thing that's making me so excited to go.
Photography is my passion and my drive in life... it's near an obsession, really. But Blaine {that's my handsome hubby-to-be}... he is --- just that and more.
{A little background on my man...} B is in the Coast Guard, and his job requires us to relocate every 3-4 years... this being our first move together. Some may think I'm crazy to "give up my dreams" for a man... but I think that's just silly. My dreams will live on no matter where I am. {and the sweetest part of the deal? I'll have the love of my life there by my side} I will work just as hard no matter where I am; I HAVE what it takes to do anything I set my mind to. And I KNOW that with a little elbow grease, I can build Orange Anchor Photography back into the powerhouse it is here in Dubuque.... anywhere in the world {Maybe that's conceited to say, but I'm damn proud of myself for what I've accomplished thus far.... and my loves --- this is just the beginning!}.
With all of the said - I hope that you are all understanding of the decision {+ situation with the USCG} I have made for myself, my relationship and my business.
As I mentioned above, I WILL BE BACK {Yes, I said that out loud with a terminator voice too} and I hope to see all of your faces again when I do!
Now, I don't expect you to NOT have any photos done while I'm gone + I'm not going to be hurt or mad that you didn't wait for a time to shoot when I'm back --- so I'm currently compiling a list of my personal recommendations for local photographers {of all kinds --- Family, Child, Senior, Weddings, Etc.} and will be posting that information as it is finished up :)
PLEASE continue to follow here on Facebook {and the Blog if I ever get that thing updated} for news on upcoming trips back to the area. As it's looking right now, I'm not 100% sure if the trips will be just a week here and there {as I have some 2013 already Weddings booked + pending here in the Dubuque Area}, or a few solid months at a time {probably being Summer-Fall}. Once B is home{!!!!!} from his deployment I'll know more... and the second I do, you will too!
Now that I've rambled on... I better get my butt back to work... I have A LOT OF IT TO DO --- I still have THIRTY more days of Booked Sessions, Editing, E-mails, Callbacks, Packaging, Weddings, and being a Rockstar {nothing is going to change}. For those of you with Sessions on the books --- I'm going to shoot the hell out of them. For those of you with Sessions already taken + are wondering with all this craziness going on, when will you get your goodies back? ---- IF ALL GOES ACCORDING TO PLAN - EVERYTHING will be 110% finished with love and awesomeness + will be in your hands or in the mail on or before November 18th. {note my To-Do list + where you are at on the editing list if you are really curious.}
Remember....
This is not a goodbye... this is just a "see you later! {alligator}"
Until next time - x's + o's
