trying some new techniques with my digital coloring. Trying to add hatching with different colors to give different lighting effects and give the armor a sort of texture as if it was used in battle actually and not all new and shiny.

What do you think?

Self Portrait '09

Wild C.A.T.S.

finished 2:04 am 9/26/09

Defenders image finished.

here are the final colors for the defenders image I was working on. Minus the colors on dr stange, who's costume is kind of retarded to color because it's like 3 shades of blue. I am happy with the final result.

The Defenders

I feel I got robbed on the last artist showoff personally, so it's time to blow it out of the water. Newest contest is the Defenders, a group that just happened by creators of Dr. Strange trying to keep the character alive by guest shots in other comics.

It eventually got it's own series.

If you're registered at comic vine go ahead and vote here. : http://www.comicvine.com/forums/artist-show-off/4/artist-show-off-showdown-38/411284/

clockwise from top to bottom. (Nighthawk, Dr. Strange, Incredible Hulk, Valkyrie, Beast)

comic vine

So comicvine.com has a forum that has an artist showoff section. So for fun I have been entering the character drawing contests, last week it was some off dc character from the old school.

Dr. Fate

This week it was one of my favorite image characters of all time.

Shadow Hawk.

here is what transpired from my work.

the pencils

and I decided to color it for giggles, came out pretty neat I think for something I didn't take serious.

rad I think.

Wedding Commision

I had someone request I do a wedding commission for them, the theme was to make a couple like superheroes. Then it turned into, I want to make him James bond with a gun and her in a wedding dress with a sword.

That's not like superheroes, I was uninspired to continue working on the piece. But I finished it anyway.

meh.

it went from concept to production to I didn't like the guys head, then I noticed the guy had a lazy eye. Mind you I colored the whole thing with a mouse, A huge ass mouse I might add. So that also caused me to be unmotivated in finishing it.

yeah, I think I could've knocked this out in a day if I had a wacom pad.

Random

I randomly drew this picture back when I used to work for capital group. Drawing at work is frowned upon, so is blogging. So don't do it.

Surreal

This is somewhat surreal, something I did for someone for shits and giggles turned out to be something really neat and cool. I just wanted to share with you, the graphics I did for Lisa Klassen's Pikes Peak Hill Climb Team Car, originally were for a WRX, which I think also got the same treatment, but ALSO got the hood artwork applied. But they liked it so much they put it on the teams EVO as well. These are some shots from a television taping.

That was the second rendition I did of the original submission. I felt it looked more agressive and less half assed. I couldn't of been more right!

Here is the artwork that was supposed to be applied to the bonnet (hood) of the car.

Cant wait to see how those came out as well.

Artwork for Lisa Klassen of Rallye Star

I was just browsing my car forums as normal when I saw a request for a graphic artist to assist design some artwork for a rally car. For shits and giggles I sent a sketch of what they were asking for to see if that was pretty much what they wanted.

as seen here.

What I did not anticipate is that they loved the concept sketch and wanted me to do a finished commercial piece to print out and put on the side of her car... like in real life lol man I was not anticipating this at all.

But hey whatever it's all in fun, I did it as a commission, completely free.

The way I see it is, that I have never pursued becoming a graphic artist because I like the creative freedom I have doing what it is I want and not what others want, so I was free to do whatever I pleased with the artwork, and it's going to make it in car magazines.

If it doesn't then hey at least I know someones driving a car around with a huge ass sticker of a drawing I did for their car. I kind of half assed it.

This is what I originally drew and submitted, I had just literally learned how to color with photoshop thanks to you tube a few weeks prior and was dicking around with it on some of my own artwork (see august entry of enforcers artwork.)

They then hounded me to do some extra stuff for the car, which I wasn't too akin too because I suck at typographical artwork, so I went online and looked up greek font types or what not. Apparently some shield from 300 had the same stuff written on it, I must of missed it in the movie. Who knows, but either way I took a bunch of pics with my cell phone of the progress just need to find them.

All done... but as soon as I finished that one, I decided that I wasn't happy with with the original one I sent so I re-drew that one, non-stop no sleep and colored it probably 2 hours after I re-drew it.

All in all I was very happy with the work and my minimal knowledge of coloring with photoshop, I was like a check short away from going out and buying a drawing tablet to do these items with and other future coloring endeavors. I have no idea really why I never finished the other stuff I started coloring. Maybe I should put some time aside to get those things done?

Either way check out Lisa Klassens website @ www.Rallyestar.com

REQUESTS \ COMMISIONS \ JUST FOR FUN

To kill time I was taking requests from friends to draw pictures for them. (I get asked all the time to do it, so I figured why not.) So below are a few images I did and I will include some descriptions down below.

UPDATE 8-05-2008
I drew this back in March of 08 but I never added it to the Gallery, I had a lot of images for this laying around somewhere which I will add a bit later, but for now I will just plug these three images in here.

These two here are the initial design I wanted to go with, I drew this on a fairly small piece of paper. So now I had to enlarge it and redraw the whole thing.

I eventually finished the drawing, I've debated for months now weather I should ink it or not, but it seems that it would be best since this is a production piece to do so, but I will try to get away with just doing your basic coloring of the image. Digitally instead of with water colors as planned. Stay tuned for updates - 137

OLDER IMAGES (2004-2007)

The first image is of my friend Eileen and her husband Refugio, they're visiting doctor 137 and inquiring about getting tig-ole bitties for Eileen. Refugio want's something conservative while she wants huge tits! Needless to say she loved the picture.
The second image is of my roomate Edward and bestie Miriam having a roommate scuffle, whats new right?
The third image is of myself (skinnier) and my friend Tony (aka PAPA TONY) having him ask me to draw him a picture. In which I did, of him asking me to draw him a picture.

The first image in this series is my friend Karina, she asked me to draw her a picture so I did.
The second image is my friend MIA, this is where all of the madness started and I started taking requests from people back in 07.
The third and fourth image are from an unfinished tattoo design I was working on for someone back in 2004. I never finished it because I thought the concept of the tattoo was a little overwhelming and I didn't want to be responsible for another permanent mistake someone else was going to make off of a design I did for them. So I never finished it, it's tucked away somewhere.

Either way I'll probably update this section someday in the future once I start doing more requests for people.

The Enforcers

All Characters Created within this blog were created by Wayne T. Edwards. Any names or similarities to other existing creations are purely coincidental and downright creepy... In a nutshell I didn't steal your characters, we're equally creative or unoriginal, take your pick.

UPDATE 08-2008

I've been working on a thumbnail for a larger drawing I wanted to do so I am posting some progressions that I hope you will enjoy, this shows you how an image goes from nothing to something. - 137

RANDOM GROUP IMAGES

Johnathan "SHADOW" Taylor

Johnathan "Shadow" Taylor is the commanding chief of the Alpha Squad of the Enforcer project. He's a young soldier who has excelled in leadership skills, combat, and espionage.

He gained the call sign "Shadow" because of his methods of infiltration and combat. He is known to only battle with his hands, and somehow manages to perform his insertion missions undetected. In his adaptation to the enforcer project he has been outfitted with a small pulse cannon which mounts over his right shoulder. For the most part he only procure's weapons on site and refuses to carry any method of arms besides the cannon. His battle suit has many combat capabilities and built in weapon systems. But they're only known to him and the designers of this suit as he rarely finds the need to rely on them.

He has been chosen for this project due to his decision making abilities, and for other reasons which remain top secret. His team members consist of (BLADE, BACKDRAFT, and STAR SHOOTER)

Danielle "BLADE" Fuentes

Danielle "Blade" Fuentes is Shadow's right hand assassin and second in command of the Alpha Squad. She has been trained in many deadly arts as well as undergone severe psyche training as well.

On the battlefield she seems like nothing more than a mindless killer, fast, clean, quiet, efficient. But off of the battlefield you wouldn't even be able to tell that she is a killer or could harm a fly for that matter. Completely a girly girl, but don't let her personality fool you, it's part of her psyche training to give off the perception she is a completely normal and harmless human being.

She excels in intellect, teamwork, and hand to hand combat, a master of arms and swords. While she is known to wield a sword and dagger in combat, she is no stranger to firearms.

On the battlefield she is an irreplaceable ally. Just hope that she's on your side.

Sean "BACKDRAFT" Taylor

Sean "Backdraft" Taylor is the younger brother to Johnathan Taylor the squad leader of Alpha team. They met through the military as Johnathan nor Sean don't have much recollection of their childhood. Both of them were taken into by the military at a young age due to a crisis situation which remains top secret.

From then they were separated and trained within the core as experimental soldiers, the latest experiment is the enforcer project. In which the subject is put in a cryogenic sleep state and invasively inserted with nano-machines that control a highly sophisticated bio-weapon reverse engineered from alien technology.

The combat suits, which personify combat characteristics or battle preferences of their hosts. Sean has an interesting ability which lets him control the power of fusion and he can either project this energy or harness it and shape it into weapons. Like his brother Johnathan, Sean prefers hand to hand combat.

It makes him feel alive, and that his duty to protect his country is being delivered in a message that is more personal. As he fights for the answers to uncover what happened to his parents, why him and his brother were split apart at a young age.

And why he was chosen to be a weapon of peace.

Sandra "STAR-SHOOTER" Berol

Sandra "Star-Shooter" Berol is a well renowned marksman and professional assassin. Trained with handguns since she was 6, she was part of a private military company hired to do wet-work missions for the U.S. Government and also by the Soviets throughout most of her career.

Not much is known about Sandra as she is a very private person when it comes to her past, but also like Blade, she is someone whom you wouldn't be able to associate her with being a professional killer. Sandra has just been raised in dealing death, and see's every mission as a performance test. Always trying to outdo herself in every arena, constantly checking mission stats, hit accuracy. She is obsessed with her work, and barely in her mid twenties.

What caused her to join the military is still unknown at this point, she is nationally known as one of the worlds most sought after contract killers alive. So it is no surprise that she was recruited for this project. It's been said that she agreed because she felt that with the powers granted by her suit that she could become the worlds greatest assassin. And she will stop at nothing to reach her goal of self proposed greatness.

Alan "ACE" Jackson

Alan "Ace" Jackson is a Veteran Navy Pilot who goes by one of the oldest names in the book, an Ace is an combat pilot that has taken down more than 5 aircraft while in service. While the number may not seem like a lot Jackson has logged about 8000 flying hours and has destroyed 12 aircraft in his career as a fighter pilot.

Due to a conspiracy which remains classified, Jackson was stripped of his rank and received a dishonorable discharge from the service. Rumors have it that he was involved with a reckless combat decision which cost him the lives of his air squadron. But nobody really knows the truth but him and some deceased brass.

Since then Jackson has operated as a combat specialist and commander of a few different gorilla mercenary groups.

Do to his clean service record and leadership abilities the Marines decided to give this Navy Pilot a second chance to redeem himself and lead the Wild Weasel Squad of the Enforcer project. And also recruited the rest of his crew. (Gunner, Sky-Knight, Blur)

Bernard "GUNNER" Sanders

Bernard "Gunner" Sanders is the field combat protege along with his other two teammates Blur and Sky-Knight in which they all have different abilities on the battlefield which compliments the others skills and abilities.

Gunner is a master of arms, the wet-works specialist of the group. If there is some artillery or heavy firepower needed then Bernard is your Gunner on the ground while Sky-knight is the recon/scout sniper who will have your back up high. Blur is the front man & the cleaner.

Bernard is a character who's past remains much a mystery because he doesn't really socialize that much. He is strictly the brains and brawn of the team and highly intellectual, artistic, and loves to read comic books.

He will follow Ace anywhere he leads him, and pledges his life to fight his teammates side. If there was anyone you would want on your team that will clean up shop. Gunner is the man for the job. His armor is highly specialized and customizable for many different operations and situations. With an infinite amount of armament options based upon necessity which can all be beamed down to him on the battlefield thanks to advanced space folding technology.

He can eqquip himself on the fly and remains an invaluable asset to his teams success...

Christopher "BLUR" Chang

Christopher "Blur" Chang is a highly renowned martial artist, trained at a very young age this young master is currently under the apprenticeship of Alan Jackson. Christopher wanted to use his talents for helping people, rather than being a street punk or a bully any longer looking for someone more skilled than him to fight.

Chang has set out to turn a new page in his life, and has started to channel his inner demons through the power of Buddhism. Through vigorous training from monks abroad it was discovered that Blur is a very special power indeed. A supernatural power resides within Chang's body which his training has taught him how to channel unlocking his limitless potential.

He is now more dangerous than before but with his new found attitude of using his strength and inhuman speed for good he joins his team in a fight for good.

Crystal "Sky-Knight" Swanson

Crystal "Sky-Knight" Swanson is a(n) highly skilled marksman and recon specialist. She is also the teams medical specialist, but those services are normally never required as she keeps a good watch over her team.

An apprentice of Alan "Ace" Jackson's, Crystal joined the military straight out of high school. While doing a few tours in her first 5 years of service she quickly began to get noticed. She has a talent for scout sniping and has never missed a shot since her enlistment.

She has had her own compact rifle design implemented into a field combat sniper rifle that doubles as a fully automatic assault rifle if necessary while also packing the ability to fire a 5 shot magazine of frag-round .50 caliber shells through a bottom barrel application.

The main cannon of this rifle consists of a high velocity .45 caliber liquid nitrogen cooled barrel which chambers and launches a round through it's accelerator chamber. The accelerator chamber takes the propelling round and draws it out of the rifle with a high intensity magnetic force tripling the normal velocity of the bullet.

Which means any shot fired from the rifle goes where it is pointed... No lag time, no lead ahead.

aim, pull, bang, hit.

She carries one of the only production models of this rifle she has designed as she is the only person skilled enough to use it.

My girlfriend M.J. stated that Sky-Knight was her favorite character of all of my designs, so as a treat I decided to update her uniform since it was long overdue (Star-Shooter is following) and this is what I came up with.

My freelance INK WORK experience

I really wish I would've got a copy of the original pencils for this piece before I did the ink work on it, the original pencil work was horrible. I drew all of the feathers on the wings myself freehand, before it was all just blank white space, modified the characters face a tad because it was the one thing on this whole page that was just a few bland lines. The original artist was not happy with that at all. So that's when I realized that inking was just not for me!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fortune and Prophet

So the backstory behind this artwork is I got a(n) independent comic book artist gig. The creator of this comic book Everette Fitzgerald what the kind of man whom you would refer to as "The religious type".

We both digged each others work, I thought the script was great and he liked my concept art so the only thing that came to fruition is the work below.... Things happened in his life that caused him to pull out of the project. I was bummed because I spent a lot of time and money on professional materials to put this stuff together, I was only 19 at the time. So it was a lot of money for me to spend almost 200 dollars for the materials.

The artwork isnt the greatest but I still love the way it came out, being 19 years old it was a big accomplishment for me.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are the covers for issue 1 and 2, I had issue one completely penciled but as soon as I found out I wasn't getting paid for my work. I just chalked it up as a loss and started working on other projects, I really have no idea what happened to the originals.

I penciled 22 pages, and only inked 11 of them as the materials to draw these things with are expensive. For the most part I again was proud of the work for what it was.

Fan Artwork

This is some fan artwork that I found laying around in my closet after some spring cleaning, I was amazed I still had these pieces still laying around. And I am quite amazed by the quality of the work after all of these years! So I scanned them in and posted them up.

I will try to look up some info on the actual comic books that the artwork was for. I know the images of the guys on the cyber bikes was from a book called "NEON CYBER" for the now debunk and bankrupt dreamwave comic books.

My 1997 Artwork Portfolio

This is basically the remainder of artwork I have salvaged from photo slides taken back in 1996 for my year 1997 Artwork portfolio. I was a sophomore at Montclair High School, in Montclair CA during the time I drew this artwork.

This same year I was accepted into the Herbert D. Ryman school for the gifted (a specialized art program to expand the talents of the youth.). And also was accepted to C.S.S.S.A (California State Summer School for the Arts), I am glad that I am able to share this stuff with you now in a digital medium.

Random Artwork

Here is just some random stuff I drew while bored either at work or while traveling and for some reason I kept it.

Welcome to my Artwork Gallery

Hello,

No need to introduce myself again, that's what my profile at the top of the page is for. I just wanted to thank you for visiting my artwork gallery. A lot of the items here I put up just for other people to enjoy a hobby and a naturally gifted talent of mine.

I've been drawing since I can remember; I started out drawing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the 4th grade. From there I started drawing Simpson characters, There was a book report I had to do back in the 6th grade that involved creating my own characters and a story. So I made some up and my own little comic book, but I never really put any effort into it at that point. After the 6th grade I was transferred to a Jr. High in Alhambra, California. I hung out with a lot of kids who got me into comic books and anime being the local population of Alhambra is mostly Asian. A lot of the kids were into stuff I had never seen before. So I got heavily into comic books and japanese animation...

I finally made it to high school which at this point I figured instead of taking shop class learning how to become a mechanic I should take ART. So that’s how my journey towards my scholastic major started. I really didn’t have anything to do for fun out in Alhambra, but to draw. After my freshman year at Alhambra high I transfered to Montclair High School in Montclair, CA.

I was introduced to Loretta Roth who was my art teacher and a great inspiration to me for the next 3 years of my life. She has shown me so many things and provided the TOOLS to unlock my full potential as an artist. Unfortunately I had to do a paradigm shift with my goals and focus on school, somewhere along the line I got caught up with a “social life” and my grades slipped.

So I stopped drawing and started pursuing my education because the thing I loved to do almost ruined my future. Or at least I had felt so, but the only person I had to blame was myself and it cost me a career in the arts. Or at least a start in the right direction it seemed, I am more than capable of getting back on the horse and following that dream. But I realized down the line it wasn't what I wanted to do with my life.

So I pursued a career in Information Technology and I could not be happier with my choice!

A waste of talent some would say (even my parents) but I always tell people it was just a hobby. With all of that said, thank you for visiting the gallery.

I greatly appreciate it.
